This page states how sublimetext.app talks about Sublime Text, what the editor is, and what you are responsible for after you install it.
Legal usage policy
Sublime Text may be downloaded and evaluated for free, however a license must be purchased for continued use. There is currently no enforced time limit for the evaluation. This website does not grant that license and does not authorize copies that ignore it.
Do not use this site to request cracked keys, patched binaries, or instructions that avoid payment. Those requests will not be published here.
Trademarks, names and the product identity belong to their owners. This independent site describes the editor.
Ethical usage statement
Sublime Text is a text editor. Use it to write and edit files you are allowed to edit. The editor is not a tool for hiding malware, altering software licenses, or breaking into systems.
License and source transparency
The main Sublime Text application is not open source. Saying otherwise would be false. What you can inspect after a normal install are default packages, syntax definitions and any community plugins you added.
No malware clarification
This website does not bundle extra installers, browser helpers or advertising toolbars. The only calls to action are the download buttons. A heuristic antivirus alert is not proof that the editor is malicious. Use the hash and signer checks on the download page.
User responsibility disclaimer
You choose whether to download, install and run software. You are responsible for checking that the file you received is the file you expected, for keeping a valid license if you continue using the editor, and for the files you open inside it.
